Souper Top Tenners

Congratulations to two of our PEA Soupers who have made the list of the top ten philosophy articles from 2009.  Jamie Dreier's "Relativism (and Expressivism) and the Problem of Disagreement," from Philosophical Perspectives v. 23, and Mark Schroeder's "Hybrid Expressivism: Virtues and Vices," from Ethics v. 119 both made the list.  (This is Mark's second year in a row in the top ten!)  Well done, gentlemen!

  1. It’s only fair to add that the ‘virtues’ part of my title refers to work by Dan Boisvert in particular, and that one of the main sections of the paper benefited substantially by prior airing here at PEA Soup. Congrats, Jamie – well-deserved.

  2. Thanks!
It’s pretty obvious what Mark’s strategy is. He writes many first rate papers each year, thus dramatically increasing the probability that the Annual will really like one of them. This ‘shotgun’ approach strikes me as rather unsportsmanlike; nonetheless I offer hereby my reciprocal, if grudging, congratulations.

  3. Plus Mark uses up so much room in so many journals each year that there is barely any competition.
